Lake Forest, IL (Dec. 17, 2010) - Kirby Lester, LLC, the world's leading pharmacy automation provider, today announced its new High-Volume Cassette for the popular KL60 robotic dispenser and KL30 counting and verification system.
The High-Volume Cassette will significantly reduce refilling times for a pharmacy's most frequently dispensed tablets or capsules. The new cassette holds more than three times the medications of Kirby Lester's standard cassette, yet it occupies only twice the space.
- Capacity: 2,200mg (the standard cassette holds 650cc)
- Accommodates approximately 2,900 metformin Hcl (500mg) tablets or 3,650 triamterene-HCTZ (25mg) capsules
- Size: 6.5"L x 6.5"W x 8"H
"Our KL60 and KL30 customers told us that our standard 650cc cassette was perfect-sized for most medications. But for those select medications that seem to fly off the shelf every day, our customers needed a jumbo-sized cassette," says Christopher Thomsen, Kirby Lester's Vice President, Business Development. "This new cassette holds more than three times the volume of our standard cassette, so the pharmacy will save time by refilling less frequently."
Kirby Lester's complete line of automation ranges from simple, economical tablet counters to full dispensing and verification systems. The KL30 is tabletop-sized and automates a pharmacy's 30 (or more) most frequently dispensed medications via cassettes; all other medications can be dispensed via a pour-through method. The KL60 fully manages a pharmacy's 60 most frequently dispensed tablets and capsules (fills, labels and collates). With a footprint and acquisition cost that is a fraction of other pharmacy technology, both the KL30 and KL60 are accessible automation for any sized retail and outpatient pharmacy.
